Objectives
Students are taught to work
with Chronic/Acute pain and Muscular Disorders along with the
elderly and the terminally ill. Students are taken to events
such as Mini 500 in Indy, walkathons, fairs, schools, etc. to
get Hands-On experience. Also, 75 clinic hours including 50%
hands on client massage hours, 35% office/misc. hours and 15%
community service hours. The focus of the program is to enter
the student into real life cases along with applying their
business, ethical, and professional aspects of maintaining a
practice.
A greater number of people today ~ more than half of
those polled (52 percent) ~ are viewing their Massage Therapist
as a health care practitioner, a reflection of the growing
awareness of Massage, with many health benefits. Our program offers an intense Hands-On Pain Relief
philosophy along with the relaxing/restoring effectives.
Students will be taught business practices in order to do
billing for insurances companies. Teresa herself worked 10 years for a
large complex since 1998
"American Health Network" that houses 16 physicians and a specialty
center and insurance does pay for Massage Therapy.
Our Mission:
Teresa's School of Therapeutic Massage is committed to
assisting students to acquire marketable skills for the
workplace as well as just working from their home.. As Massage
Therapist we must learn and continually growing in our knowledge
of Massage Therapy and the human body. {Since April 2002 Teresa
has updated the curriculum four different times to keep up with
the constant changes in Massage Therapy.}
You will Learn: Graber Detox Massage
Teresa Graber has developed a massage technique designed to
effectively help in the detoxification of the lymphatic system
during a 30-minute, full-body massage. This technique is
taught to all students in her massage program. Graber, owner of
a massage/spa business and a massage school, has worked along
side 16 physicians in a large healthcare network since
1998, providing massage to their patients suffering from
muscular disorders, chronic neck and shoulder pain and lower
back pain. Her 30-minute technique can be implemented within the
time frame of an office visit in order to comply with insurance
companies for reimbursement codes. But, the true benefactors of
her technique are the patients themselves. As a result,
the detoxification process is less likely to trigger a healing
crisis (low grade fever, nausea, diarrhea) even in patients
receiving their first massage.
